When the Winnipeg Jets released their new jerseys on Tuesday, it was like Christmas in July… er, September.
For the first time since 2000, we had completely new uniforms for a completely new team. Here’s what they gave us.

The GOOD-
-No vintage white, off-colour name plates, or wordmarks.
When a new uniform comes out these days, it’s almost a given that it will have one of those things. Sure, these jerseys have a roundel logo, but the original Jets did, and it doesn’t have the name around the outside, so it gets a pass. They’re tastefully modern, but just retro enough to be classic.
The BAD-
-The lack of powder blue on the home jersey.
It’s in the collar and the hem stripe, but the little bit used in the sleeve stripes blends into the navy.
The UGLY-
-The clashing stripes on the road.
It just doesn’t work. Stripes of one colour going one way, and then covered over by stripes going a completely opposite direction. I would like it much better if the stripes ended when the reached the navy yoke.
For what they gave us for logos, they turned out a remarkable jersey. Well done, TNSE.
I’m BigMan, and that’s The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
